Romans 16:25-27

The Glory of Christ…

Our study of Romans is finally complete.  St. Paul’s letter to Rome, the city which would eventually become the center of the Church, finishes with this:

Now to him who can strengthen you, according to my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret for long ages but now manifested through the prophetic writings and, according to the command of the eternal God, made known to all nations to bring about the obedience of faith, to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ be glory forever and ever. Amen. -Romans 16:25-27, NAB

Our faith is summed up by this beautiful verse.  Line by line, it reaffirms our faith and defines us as Christians.

Now to him who can strengthen you… May we always find our strength through the power of our God.

…according to my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ… From the Sacred Scriptures to the Tradition of the Catholic Church.

…according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret for long ages but now manifested through the prophetic writings… Jesus Christ who came to fulfill the prophecies and create a New Covenant with the people.

…and, according to the command of the eternal God,… All possible because it is the will of God the Father.

…made known to all nations to bring about the obedience of faith, to the only wise God,… Across every continent, from east to west, and from north to south, may all people fall to their knees to honor our God.

…through Jesus Christ be glory forever and ever. Amen… Amen, brothers and sisters, amen.

Our look at Romans is complete.  We began our look at Romans way back in December, so if you would like to start from the beginning, I would definitely encourage it.  Coming Monday, we’ll begin another book of the Bible, but I’ll leave that a secret for now.

Thank you for continuing to read these Daily Bible Verses.  I’ll see you soon!
