Rejecting the Truth…
There is little we can do for those who simply accept to go against the Word of God:
“And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God handed them over to their undiscerning mind to do what is improper. They are filled with every form of wickedness, evil, greed, and malice; full of envy, murder, rivalry, treachery, and spite. They are gossips and scandalmongers and they hate God. They are insolent, haughty, boastful, ingenious in their wickedness, and rebellious toward their parents.
They are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless.
Although they know the just decree of God that all who practice such things deserve death, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.” -Romans 1:24-27 NAB
Yesterday, the verse spoke about a similar topic where Paul talks about those who give themselves over to lustful desires. Today, We read about those who reject the truth of Jesus Christ and fill their lives with evil ways.
Paul speaks about wickedness, evil, envy, murder, and so on, and he paints an ugly picture of what some people look like. At times, it seems as if this darkness is spreading. As more people continue to reject God in our culture, they quickly fall into these vices. With no moral compass to follow, it is every man for himself.
I added emphasis to the line, “They are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless,” because it shows what a dark soul truly looks like. Without the light of Christ in our lives, we would all become some, if not all, of these things. It is one thing when we meet the occasional person with this darkness in their soul, but now imagine a world where this is the norm, not the exception.
It is not too late. We can still reach out to these people. There are people I have met who went through some very dark times, but now, they have the light of Christ in their lives. Let’s help pull them out of the darkness and into the light.
