The Lord Directs Our Steps
We may have our own plans for our lives, but the Lord directs our steps:
In his mind a man plans his course, but the LORD directs his steps. -Proverbs 6:9, NAB
Over fifteen years ago, after a series of mistakes and choices that led me to dark times, I finally found the need for Christ in my life. I had rejected my faith as a teenager but now realized that I needed a Savior.
Fast forward a decade. My faith had seen its share of ups and downs. My life had, as well. I struggled to find a consistency to my faith. It was built on a shaky foundation, so I experienced times of extreme highs and extreme lows. That is when the Lord led me to the Catholic Church.
Since I first became Christian years ago, I knew that I wanted to spread the Word of God. I did not know how I would do it. Would it be a full-time or part-time endeavor? Would I ever make an impact in anyone’s life? I didn’t know the answer to that question, but I put my faith in God to lead me in the right direction.
I never imagined that God would lead me to the Catholic Church to make it happen. In fact, it was probably one of the last places I would have expected. Nonetheless, becoming Catholic was one of the most important decisions I have ever made, and I am glad to share this beautiful faith with anyone who will listen.
For the past few years, I have poured out my heart on this site, sharing everything I have learned and know about the Catholic faith. It has been an amazing experience, but now, it is time for the next step in the journey.
On July 3rd, 2013, I will be releasing my first book , Waking Up Catholic. It has taken me two years to write the book, and I am excited to share what I have learned in a new way. Whether I sell 1 copy or 1,000, I owe it all to the Lord – the Lord who directs our steps.
The eBook is ready to go, and the paperback is just awaiting some final adjustments. The eBook will definitely be released on the 3rd, and with a few answered prayers, the paperback will be, too. Your prayers are also greatly appreciated.
I am just an average guy from a small town outside of Chicago, which is proof that God can use any one of us. God can use you to help change the world. Just plan the course and let the Lord direct your steps.
If you would like to win a copy of Waking Up Catholic in eBook or paperback form, fill out the form below. The contest ends July 3rd:
