Asking God for Wisdom….

One prayer that the Lord loves to answer is asking God for wisdom:

But if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and he will be given it.  -James 1:5, NAB

In times of need, in times of trouble, and in times of confusion, asking God for wisdom should be one of the highest priorities on our list.  Before we face any challenges or make any decisions, we must turn to God seeking His guidance first.

Few of us, unfortunately, take time to do this.  We are quick to rely on our own abilities – determined to handle life on our terms.  Then, after life goes astray, we turn to God hoping that He will help us to clean up the mess.

But what if we took the time to turn to Him before things went off course?  What if we sought His wisdom in all that we do?

Asking God for a miracle following a tragedy is difficult, but asking God for wisdom before tragedy occurs will save us a great deal of heartache.  God loves to answer our prayers, and asking Him for wisdom is one that He quickly responds to.

When life leaves you battered, torn, and confused, do not lean on your own understanding.  Ask God for the wisdom to make the right decisions before life goes awry, and it will save you from praying for miracles later.
