The Faith of Moses, Part 3…
We see the faith of Moses in his belief in God’s protection:
By faith he kept the Passover and sprinkled the blood, that the Destroyer of the firstborn might not touch them. -Hebrews 11:28, NAB
The author of Hebrews continues sharing the faith of Bible heroes with another example of the faith of Moses. First, we saw the faith of Moses as he gave up the privileged life (read here), and then, we saw his faith as he stood up to the pharoah (click here).
Today’s verse shows Moses’ faith as he believes that God can save the Jewish people from evil.
We need this same courage today. The corruption of this world threatens the lives of our children and our children’s children, and we need to have faith that God will save them. If we teach our kids to have the faith of Moses, they can be spared from the evils of this world.
It’s hard not to lose hope. Some even question whether they want to bring a child into this world we live in today. I believe that this is when we need to bring children of faith into this world the most. If someone does not raise the next generation of Christians, there will be no one to continue sharing the message of Christ.
We are the foot soldiers in the battle between good and evil, and our children will continue the battle when we are gone. The war will rage on, and our children may have a more difficult fight than we do, but that only shows the need for the next generation of soldiers even more.
Sometimes, it can be scary to think about the challenges our children will face as Christians, but we need to put our hope and faith in Christ – knowing that He will give them everything they need for battle.
