Faith: Evidence of Things Not Seen…
Today, we study one of the most beautiful verses in Scripture:
Faith is the realization of what is hoped for and evidence of things not seen. -Hebrews 11:1 NAB
Faith is one of the most difficult aspects of being a Christian. Believing in the unbelievable seems impossible, yet our entire religion and belief system depends on faith.
- We believe that God the Father created each one of us.
- We believe that Christ saved us from our sins on the cross.
- And we believe that the Holy Spirit lives and works through us.
All three of these statements would not be possible without faith. Faith, then, makes it a reality in our lives – the realization. Without faith, Christianity would just be theoretical spirituality. Heaven and the afterlife would be a myth. Salvation would not exist.
Generally speaking, to believe in something, we require evidence of its truth and existence. In the case of Christianity, faith becomes the evidence. Our faith becomes the proof that God exists.
We cannot see God. We cannot touch Him. We talk to Him, but most of us will not directly hear a response. Faith helps us to look past these physical limitations to see something far greater. We connect with God spiritually, in ways that our physical bodies never could.
Let faith guide your life to a closer relationship with God and help you to believe in the unbelievable. Faith makes God a reality and shows proof that He exists.
