1 Peter 3:15-16
Stand Up for Christ…
When asked, will you profess the name of God?
“Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope, but do it with gentleness and reverence, keeping your conscience clear, so that, when you are maligned, those who defame your good conduct in Christ may themselves be put to shame.” -1 Peter 3:15-16, NAB
As Catholics, Christ will begin to work in our lives. We will receive many blessings, and our overall view of the world will change. Our faith will bring us a hope that we may not have had before, and it will not take long for the world to notice.
Have you ever been asked, “Is there something different about you?” Many times, as we grow in our relationship with Christ, people will want to know what is different about us. This provides us with the perfect opportunity to share our faith with those around us. When they ask you what is making a difference in your life, you need to tell them of the great things that Christ is doing in you. Do not be afraid, and say it with joy.
Sometimes, when we share our faith, people will mock, ridicule, and chastise us. Some will actually get upset with us. But, do not let any of this stop you. Your closest family and friends may turn against you, but the Lord never will. You know the difference He has made in your life; now, you need show to everyone else.
For years, I mocked the Christian faith. For years, as a Christian, I mocked Catholics for their beliefs. Despite all of the mocking that I did, there were those who refused to back down. No matter what I said, and no matter what I did, they held to their beliefs. They were not afraid to tell me the truth. They knew I would ridicule them, but they continued on anyway.
Here I am, a number of years later, and I am now sharing the message with you. If you want to mock me, then do so. If you have questions, then ask. If you already know the love and grace that Christ brings, share this with your friends. They may mock you because of my words, but we are both simply sharing Christ’s message with the world. Do not be afraid.
On every page of this website, there are “Share” buttons to post this on your Facebook, Twitter, and other social media. Will you take the challenge and stand up for Christ?
