The Lord Hears You…

Ever wonder if the Lord is paying attention?  Well, He hears your prayer loud and clear:

“For: ‘Whoever would love life and see good days must keep the tongue from evil and the lips from speaking deceit, must turn from evil and do good, seek peace and follow after it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears turned to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against evildoers.'”  -1 Peter 3:10-12, NAB

When we stand up for what is right, we can sometimes meet opposition.  When we try to live a life centered on Christ, the world may be against us.  We may feel alone and as if no one is listening.  In the midst of these storms, we pray out to God for His love and mercy.  I can tell you this with complete confidence; fear not, He hears us loud and clear.

Living a Christian life separates us from society.  Our moral standards do not fit into this world, and we can sometimes face persecution for it.  Just when we think that times could not get any more difficult, Christ will answer our prayers.  He hears our prayers looking for strength to do what is right.  He hears our prayers looking for love and compassion.  His grace will be with us just when we need Him the most.

Following Christ can be difficult.  It is against our sinful nature to live a life without sin.  Like anyone, we will still fall to sin, but sin does not rule over our lives.  We do not follow our wants and desires, but we aspire to follow God’s will in all that we do.  The only way for us to overcome this sinful life is through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and if we turn to Him in prayer, He will be there for us.

Sometimes, we can begin to feel alone this world.  We try to follow Christ’s example, and the world may turn against us.  Do not worry.  Christ knows your pain and struggles.  He is there for you when you stumble, and He can hear your prayers loud and clear.  With Christ, we are never alone.  In today’s verse, Peter assures us that the Lord is always listening.  Hold fast to righteousness, turn to prayer, and He will hear you.

Do you feel alone?  Do you feel like you are living a Christ-centered life but no one is watching?  Are you crying out for help but feel no one is listening?  Even when you think you are alone, that no one is watching, and no one can hear you, Christ can.  The Lord hears your prayers, and He will be there for you.  We may not see any proof through visions or miracles, but rest assured, the Lord will answer your prayers.  We may not be able to hear Him, but He can hear us, loud and clear.
