1 Corinthians 4:20
Stop Talking, Start Doing…
Would you consider yourself a good Catholic, a good Christian? What you do says so much more than what you say:
“For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.” -1 Corinthians 4:20, NAB
Many people will boast about attending Mass on a weekly basis. Others will talk about the money that they have donated to charity. While these are important parts of being a good Catholic and Christian, they are not enough. We can even talk about the depth of our faith, but it means little if there is no real substance there. Faith is real, and it is powerful. True faith shows not just in what we say, but in what we do. God knows what is truly in your heart, and He can see beyond the veil. If your faith is shallow, He knows it. No matter how we may appear to others, the Lord knows the depths of our faith and of our heart. To truly show the power of our faith, we must attend Mass because of our devotion, not our ritual. To truly show the power of our faith, we must give to charity out of love, not out of pride. And, to truly show the power of our faith, faith must be at the center of all that we do. By living our lives in true faith and devotion to our God, we will find a power that goes beyond words.
