1 Corinthians 1:10
One Voice, One Church
As we continue our look at 1 Corinthians, we are called to be one voice:
“I urge you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree in what you say, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and in the same purpose.” -1 Corinthians 1:10, NAB
As Christians, we have become divided. We are Catholics, Baptists, Methodists, Lutherans, and a host of other denominations. There are even a vast number of nondenominational churches that operate as separate entities. But, in the end, we are all Christians. We may practice our faith in different ways. We may not agree on all things. However, we share one love, one passion for the Lord Jesus Christ, and we must use this same passion to unite us. Our goals are the same – to share Christ’s love with the world. As different as our different faiths may be, in many ways, we are all brothers and sisters in Christ. Let’s unite in a spirit of ecumenism.
NOTE: Truly, I say to you that what you read here on this website comes from the Spirit and not myself. All honor and glory belong to God. By no means do I consider myself a gifted speaker, writer, or theologian. Only with the gifts that He has given me can I pull any of this off. And now, as promised, the Weekly Bible Readings will become Daily Bible Readings. Each week, there will be short daily readings Monday through Saturday and a longer lesson (like this one) on Sunday. Thank you for the continued blessings and support.
