1 Corinthians 1:21
God’s Wisdom, Not Ours
Building on yesterday’s verse from 1 Corinthians 1:18, Paul continues by speaking about wisdom:
“For since in the wisdom of God the world did not come to know God through wisdom, it was the will of God through the foolishness of the proclamation to save those who have faith.” -1 Corinthians 1:21, NAB
A trap that I fall into myself many times is attempting to find redemption through wisdom, but no level of knowledge will ever make us worthy of God’s saving grace. We can become the greatest of Catholic scholars, and Christ will still not have mercy on us. It is not what is within our brain that makes the difference, it is what is within our heart and soul that matters. By no means am I saying that we should not want to dive in and study God’s Word, but that it should strengthen the faith that already exists. If you are looking to find a relationship with God, you will not find it in the pages of a book or even on this website. However, as you study scripture, however that may be, look into your heart and there God will be.
NOTE: Truly, I say to you that what you read here on this website comes from the Spirit and not myself. All honor and glory belong to God. By no means do I consider myself a gifted speaker, writer, or theologian. Only with the gifts that He has given me can I pull any of this off. And now, as promised, the Weekly Bible Readings will become Daily Bible Readings. Each week, there will be short daily readings Monday through Saturday and a longer lesson (like this one) on Sunday. Thank you for the continued blessings and support.
